Exciting delivery! Resourcing the JS Music Department

As IB Educators, we invest our whole being into the future of your children. From planning experiential activities to designing Units of Inquiry, from scaffolding our Teaching so that every student gets a personalized Learning to collaborating with colleagues and develop meaningful connections and actions, from attending numerous meetings to making Learning visible on Seesaw, from creating Assessments that help our students move forward to ensuring that Fun remains at the center of our practice… the list goes on…
However, our efforts are sometimes best supported by investing a few bucks into our Teaching needs… and in this case, a whole lot of bucks!
I am extremely grateful and pleased to announce that the JS Music Departrment has just purchased numerous new instruments, as well as new equipment to establish 4 recording studios in our practice rooms: 6 Djembes, 7 Darbukas, 2 Congas, 2 Bongos, 5 Studio Monitors, 4 Microphones, 4 Headphones, 4 Interfaces (the magic box that helps instruments “talk” to computers), 4 computers and 4 Licenses for the Ableton music creation software.
Last Friday, our grade 5 students helped us unpack all these ‘presents’ and set-up all the new instruments on their own. Through the process, they demonstrated extreme care, appreciation, enthusiasm, and independence.
Thinking of the endless opportunities these new instruments/equipment will bring to our classroom truly makes me ecstatic!
Stay tuned for more info about our soon-to-be recording studios…
