Early Years students learn on the farm

For our Textures unit, we went to the farm and learned how to make mud bricks.  We found out that the mud oven and the classroom on the farm are both made of mud bricks.  We were originally going to make a mud house with the bricks, but after seeing the mud oven at the farm, the students decided that they would like to make a pretend mud oven next to the mud kitchen on the Early Years playground.

Everyone worked very hard and had so much fun getting messy!

The mud bricks have now dried completely and are finally ready for the students to make their long awaited mud oven.  We will continue to work on it every Friday for the next few weeks.

If you see any of the Early Years 1 children, be sure to ask about their mud brick experience.
