Early Years Learning

The Early Years students at Prem are exposed to sustainable practices every day, allowing them to build a deep appreciation and respect for nature.  In the Early Years we value opportunities to explore and inquire into the world around us and opportunities to engage with and learn in the indoor and outdoor environments.  Teachers carefully plan learning experiences that connect to sustainability along with children’s interests.  Some of these include:
  • Gardening in the Early Years garden
  • Playing in the mud kitchen
  • Collecting and building with recycled materials
  • Playing with wooden toys rather than plastic
  • Collecting and using natural loose parts
  • Using clay to express creativity
  • Visits to the farm
  • Weekly Outdoor learning
These are a part of the every day in Early Years and provide a strong connection to sustainability in our environment.
