This week the DP Theatre studies students paid a visit to the Trevi Fountain, took a gondola ride down the streets of Venice and stepped out of this world into the landscapes of fantasy and illusion. On a field trip to Art in Paradise they were challenged to see the potential of how a flat wall and or floor can be used to transport an audience into an imaginary or illusion of a real world. This gave them the opportunity to see that Theatre can be created anywhere and our imaginations can suspend disbelief and transport us to wherever we desire to go…
It was a pleasure to see the group have fun placing themselves and directing each other to create their own illusions, reactions and meanings. The potential is endless and their enthusiasm was a pleasure to witness.
