On Friday Dec 12 th EY3 picked lemons from the tree, squeezed the juice and made lemonade.
On Friday 10 th January the EY3 students eagerly headed off to the Farm to learn about
Aquaponics and a ‘watering system’.
Ajarn Sandeep explained the Aquaponics as the EY3 students observed and asked questions.
They were fascinated to learn that the plants were getting their nutrients from the water and
the fish poo.
Ajarn Balyjot discussed with the students the ‘watering system activated by cycling.’ EY3 are
learning about different systems. They asked lots of questions and were eager to climb onto the
bicycle to activate the pump. Back in the classroom the students used their sketch books to
draw a picture of the ‘watering system.’
Their illustrations are incredible and they can explain how the rain fills the pond, cycling makes
the pump work, water goes along the pipes and the plants get watered!
Throughout the year the EY3 Farm visits are supporting the students learning through the UOI
How we Organize Ourselves and specifically the LOI Systems products go through before we
use them. We are very fortunate to have different experiences at the farm each week.
