The EY3 children have carefully observed the plants in the Mini Farm grow. While some plants are growing quickly, we began wondering how we could get others to grow better. We have been discussing the use of compost and visited the farm yesterday to learn a bit more.
Do you have food waste that you can collect for compost? Egg shells, fruit and vegetable scraps, and other plant scraps can be used!
How can we become more aware of our food waste and how we can use it to help our plants grow? K. Ter kindly delivered a bag of compost to the EY3 Mini Farm. We learned that there are three parts to making compost (manure, brown waste, and green waste) . They are all mixed together and then left to rot before becoming compost.
