Fonteparit (Fond) is excited about her offer from St George’s University Grenada/ Northumbria University, Newcastle to study to become a […]
Last weekend, a group from Prem joined Thai students from local schools to develop their understanding of the causes and consequences of seasonal pollution. With guest speakers from both CMU and Maejo universities as well as a morning working alongside National Park staff in Mae Sa National Park, clearing a fire break, the participants were exposed to many expert ideas. Traidhos Camp and VSP staff helped to explore the concepts and see causes and effects during supporting games and activities. The weekend ended with a market place sharing of ideas. Each school explained their project ideas and the expectations of what they hope to achieve by working on the project. Prem students, teachers and parents showcased some of the clean air initiatives that Prem is currently involved in.
In the coming weeks, schools will develop and implement the student initiatives and finally report back on the impact their projects have had in reducing the pollution from smoke in their village.
We are greatful to the Chiang Mai Governor for his support in suggesting the project and for participating during the weekend.
