Chinese New Year

Today we were fortunate to have our Chinese parents come in to share about the Chinese New Year which is coming up next Tuesday! Children watched a short video about the what Chinese New Year is and why things are done. Then they took part in making dumplings which are traditionally made on New Year’s Eve to bring people good luck for the coming year. Using all of their senses, children were excited and engaged!

It was a great experience for Chinese children to further their understanding about their own culture as well as for the other children to develop understanding and respect for cultures of others.

Special thank you goes out to all the Chinese families!
