Yoga for Parents
We are lucky to welcome Master Jagat each Wednesday morning. Master Jagat usually works from a yoga studio in Chiang […]
On Monday morning this week, our Prem parents came by to our Child Protection Agreement Workshop. Some came in voicing excitement that this was a “BIG” topic and that there was so much to learn! One parent laughed and said that they knew they were somewhat naive about the risks of abuse to children and wished it could stay that way forever.
As counsellors, we knew it was time to share what we intrinsically know about: recognizing signs of abuse, lessening the risks of a child becoming a target for predators, identifying cybersafety issues, understanding that harsh language and physical punishment causes a lower IQ and lower performance in students, responding to a child’s disclosure, reviewing what Prem is doing to help protect students from possible harm, and what we as counsellors teach students on the subject of protection.
If you missed the presentation, have a look at the slides!
