A huge milestone for Prem! We are thrilled to celebrate the soft opening of the brand new Prem Track with the return of Friday Laps! The new track is set to become the centrepiece of our athletics facilities, a fantastic resource for our student athletes and the wider Prem community, who are all more than welcome to come and use it. There may have been a little rain, but nobody cared! Nothing was going to stop the Prem community from getting out on the track for the first time. This week marks the soft opening, but the best is yet to come. At the start of next academic year we will be hosting a Grand Opening celebration complete with track and field events across the school and maybe even a teacher race or two!

A heartfelt thank you to the Prem parents who advocated for this incredible facility, and to our Board of Governors for making it happen. This one is for the whole community.

Prem International School celebrated its vibrant International Day bringing together students, teachers, parents, and community members under the theme “Many Cultures, One Community.” The event began with the traditional flag parade led by Lung Noi’s Thai drum team, followed by representatives from the many nations within the Prem community. Visitors then explored colourful country booths featuring cultural displays, activities, and delicious food from more than 20 countries, while younger students collected stamps in their International Day passports through quizzes and traditional games.

The day also highlighted student creativity and learning. Grade 5 and Grade 9 students collaborated on projects connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were showcased during the event. A collage competition titled “Country Impressions” displayed the artistic talents of students and teachers, while performances from students, parents, and staff provided music, dance, and cultural celebration throughout the day, making International Day a memorable reflection of Prem’s diverse community.

The Panthers have wrapped up their first season of the year with remarkable achievements, showcasing their talent and determination across multiple sports. Despite facing challenges, including disruptions to training due to severe flooding, the teams demonstrated resilience and delivered outstanding performances throughout the season.

CMAC Highlights

The U12 girls’ basketball team made significant strides, finishing fourth in their competition and setting the stage for growth in future seasons. In football, the U16 and U20 girls’ teams shone brightly, securing impressive silver medal finishes in their respective CMAC competitions.

International Achievements

The U20 girls’ football team extended their success beyond local competition, earning a bronze medal at the Southeast Asia International Schools Invitational. Competing against top teams from the region, they proved their mettle on an international stage.

Boys Teams Build Momentum

The boys’ teams also put up commendable performances, demonstrating growth and potential throughout their seasons. While the focus this year was on development, their efforts promise even stronger showings in the future.

Persevering Through Adversity

Training interruptions caused by flooding tested the team’s resilience, yet they rose to the challenge and exceeded expectations. Their ability to perform at such a high level despite the setbacks is a testament to their dedication, teamwork, and support from the school community.

As the Panthers conclude their first season of the year, the focus now turns to building on this foundation of success. With lessons learned and a hunger for improvement, the Panthers are poised for even greater accomplishments in the seasons ahead. Here’s to continued growth and triumphs in the year to come!

Our College Office recently hosted its annual Career, College, and University Fair at the Shangri-La Hotel in Chiang Mai, attracting over 100 universities, colleges, and education consultants from around the world. Representatives from countries including Australia, the USA, Japan, and Switzerland showcased a variety of academic programmes and opportunities for international students.

The event, led by Ajarn Dawn, Head of Higher Education and Careers Counselling, brought together more than 700 students, parents, and educators, providing a valuable platform to explore higher education options, application processes, and student life. In 2024, Ajarn Dawn and her team achieved remarkable success with Prem’s Grade 12 students, who secured 133 university offers, including many from prestigious Ivy League schools.

Our Head of School, Ajarn Rachel, expressed pride in the event’s success, noting that hosting at the Shangri-La was a perfect solution amidst recent campus restoration efforts. She emphasized the fair’s unique role in inspiring students’ educational journeys and preparing them for exciting futures.
