On Thursday 6 March, Prem students took center stage at the Model United Nations (MUN) conference hosted by Chiang Mai International School (CMIS) at the Empress Hotel. This dynamic event brought together passionate young leaders from across Chiang Mai to debate critical global issues, engage in diplomacy, and collaborate on real-world solutions.

With weeks of dedicated preparation, Prem students arrived ready to make an impact. They researched global challenges, honed their arguments, and practiced persuasive speaking. At the conference, they confidently debated, negotiated, and worked as a team—demonstrating key IB Learner Profile attributes such as being knowledgeable, open-minded, and principled. They embraced different perspectives, communicated with clarity, and built meaningful connections with peers from diverse backgrounds.

MUN is more than just a debate—it’s an exciting opportunity for students to develop global citizenship. By tackling complex international issues and considering different cultural viewpoints, they strengthen their leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. They learn to navigate the world with empathy, diplomacy, and a commitment to positive change.

Prem students truly stood out! They engaged in powerful discussions, presented compelling ideas, and worked towards practical solutions that promote peace and global cooperation. Their passion, dedication, and confidence were evident throughout the event.

Experiences like MUN inspire students to become active global citizens, ready to shape the future. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and celebrate their efforts in making a real difference through dialogue and collaboration!

The Grade 9 students recently completed their Bronze level Adventurous Journey as part of the International Award. The journey took them along a challenging trek from the base of the Monk’s Trail all the way to the highest point of Chiang Mai, Doi Pui. This trek covered steep inclines, dense forest, and rugged terrain, pushing students to their physical and mental limits.

Carrying all their necessary gear, including their backpacks with tents, food, and personal items, the students embraced the responsibility of cooking their own meals and setting up camp. Under the stars, they spent a night in the wilderness, experiencing both the beauty and challenges of outdoor living.

The students demonstrated exceptional resilience throughout the journey. Despite the physical exertion and the challenges of outdoor camping, they remained positive, worked well as a team, and encouraged one another. Their ability to adapt, problem-solve, and support their peers highlights their growth in confidence and self-sufficiency.

Overall, this Adventurous Journey was a great success, showcasing the students’ resilience, teamwork, and growing independence. It was an unforgettable experience that not only strengthened their outdoor skills but also brought them closer together as a group.

Huge thanks to Ajarn Tony & Ajarn Mayada for giving up their weekend so that this event can go ahead. We couldn’t do it without you.

In an exciting two-day, one-night camping trip, Grade 5 students participated in a range of activities designed to build teamwork, self-reliance, and environmental awareness. The camp, held at a beautiful outdoor location, provided an enriching experience with a focus on sustainable living and practical skills.

Students kicked off their adventure by making solar ovens. They learned how solar energy can be harnessed to cook food and worked together to build simple solar-powered ovens. To put their creations to the test, they made delicious s’mores, gaining hands-on experience with sustainable cooking methods.

One of the camp’s highlights was making burgers. Students worked together to prepare and cook their own burgers. This activity not only taught them valuable cooking skills but also encouraged collaboration and self-sufficiency.

Teamwork was further developed through team-building games and the challenging low ropes course. Students collaborated to overcome obstacles, enhancing communication and trust. The experience culminated with the students sleeping in tents under the stars, which fostered independence and resilience.

This camp was a perfect blend of education and adventure, providing students with essential life skills and lasting memories. By the end of the trip, the Grade 5 students returned with a greater appreciation for teamwork, sustainability, and self-reliance, ready to face new challenges with confidence.
