We were delighted to welcome back Belgian pianist and educator Myriam Ayari as a returning Prem Artist Residency Thailand practitioner, joining us from the Conservatory in Brussels.

During her time on campus, she worked with our Grade 10 students to explore improvisation and composition through listening, response, and experimentation. She also mentored young musicians in the Prem Music Academy through one-to-one sessions and collaborated with our film students to investigate how music can shape the mood and meaning of moving image.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to experience music not just as performance, but as inquiry, dialogue, and creative discovery.

The stage came alive at this year’s Prem Dance Festival as we welcomed talented students from international schools across Chiang Mai to perform, connect, and celebrate the art of dance together.

The evening was a vibrant showcase of diverse performances, from powerful contemporary pieces to high energy group choreography, featuring both Prem students and visiting schools from around the city. More than a performance, it was a celebration of creativity, expression, and shared passion.

The festival created space for collaboration, confidence, and community, highlighting the growing dance culture here at Prem and strengthening connections between schools in Chiang Mai.

Thank you to every dancer, teacher, and supporter who helped make this event such a meaningful celebration of the arts.

This hands-on activity not only honoured cultural traditions but also raised awareness of preserving natural resources.
Inspired by the Loy Krathong song’s meaningful words, “As we push away, we pray, we can see a better day,” this celebration aimed to encourage sustainable living. Additionally, our school kitchen supported the event by preparing Thai desserts, Dta Koh, served in Pandan leaf containers, further emphasizing the use of biodegradable materials.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed—the administration, homeroom teachers, educational assistants, school secretaries, housekeepers, and kitchen staff. Their teamwork ensured the success of this eco-friendly event, creating a meaningful experience for our students and reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship.

Junior School Thai Department
