This past Saturday, our boarding students woke up early to participate in the Cancer Care Run charity event at the Royal Park Rajapruek. The annual Cancer Care Run has been held since 1981. The event has raised approximately THB 40 million so far, all of which is used for cancer research in Thailand.
The event kicked off at 7:05am right at the heart of the picturesque botanical gardens in the Royal Park. Our students had a great opportunity to experience the beauty of nature while running or walking in the park. The students got to learn more about caring for cancer patients and cancer research. This helped them reflect more candidly about how they live. Some students could be overhead discussing how they now understood the importance of good eating habits and they are considering improving their regular diets.
The event ended at 9:00am and our school won the second prize and a trophy for having the largest group signed up. Our students enjoyed this activity very much. They showed amazing support of Cancer awareness for such an early morning activity. The boarding students raised 32,000 baht for Cancer Care.
