Busy Times For Prem Season 2 Teams

Football

Senior School football players traveled to Phuket last weekend to compete in the 14th annual BISP Soccer 7s tournament hosted by the British International School, Phuket. This year, there were 1,600 players, 144 teams and 38 international schools participating. Prem competed in the Over 15 Boys' and Over 15 Girls' tournaments. The girls finished Day One with two wins and a loss. The two big wins (2-1 and 5-1) came against the host school and North London Collegiate School Seju. The boys also played three games on Day One, finishing with one win and two losses. The boys beat Taipei European School 2-1 and came up short in close games against Head Start Intl. School and Intl. School Penang Uplands, 0-1 and 1-2.
Saturday morning started off as a sunny and hot day, but the weather soon turned, and heavy rain started pouring down on the tournament. Both the boys and the girls played a game in the morning on waterlogged pitches. Soon after, the tournament was halted for a couple of hours with the hope that the water would drain. In the early afternoon, with water still covering most pitches, the tournament was suspended due to safety concerns. This was an unfortunate ending to an otherwise very positive trip.

Basketball

The U14 boys' and girls' basketball teams participated in an invitational tournament at Chiang Mai International School (CMIS) this weekend. The boys played against Grace, CMIS and Prince Royal's College and finished in third place with three wins and one loss. The girls finished in sixth place and played games against CMIS, Dara Academy, Grace and NIS. Both teams improved throughout the tournament and will use this as a great stepping stone in getting their CMAC season started soon. Earlier this week, the U12 boys' and girls' basketball teams hosted NIS for games, winning both.

This week

The action continues this week as Prem plays NIS in JV/Varsity football games and the U12 basketball teams play against CMIS. This upcoming weekend (13-14 November), Prem is hosting the Prem Fall Classic Football Invitational Tournament.
