Bua Loy this week in JS Thai Language and Culture class

Following the Loy Kratong Festival students in grades 1,2, and 3 have enjoyed making ‘Bua Loy’; this is a Traditional Thai desert and the name means ‘Floating Water Lily’ ( Bua = water lily Loy = Floating). They are rice balls in coconut milk, and  these were coloured using natural colouring agents:

  • Green balls from pandan leaf
  • Yellow balls from Turmeric
  • White balls from coconut milk
  • Orange balls from carrot
  • Purple balls from butterfly pea
