Boarding pool party with a surprising end

Last Monday was a busy afternoon at the pool! Our boarding community organised a pool party for all boarders:  the party included French fries, hot dogs and ice cream for dinner afterwards.

There was enough reason to get together and throw a party, as Monday was a school holiday and Term 4 is moving forward quickly.  Young and old were there: the junior boarders joined the fun with the older students and even most of the Grade 12s, who were studying for their exams, came over to take a break and have a swim. Not only did the boys’ and girls’ teams try to beat each other in volleyball, we also witnessed some ‘artistic diving’ and the kayaks were even used to paddle from one end of the pool to the other.

This relaxing afternoon had an exciting end: while eating dinner outside at the pool, we experienced one of the most significant earthquakes in North Thailand of the last few years.  The evacuation procedure was done ‘swiftly and with style’: everyone went together in swim suits (and finishing those last few french fries) to the evacuation zone and made it back safely to boarding afterwards.

This was probably one of the most memorable boarding pool parties at Prem!
