Behind the Scenes of the Senior School Production...

Read on to find out a little bit about the experience the staff bring to the Senior School production.

Some of the staff involved in this year’s production “Reality: Reloaded”.

Ajarn Gina Ryan has performed as solo percussionist in Canada, the US, Japan, and China in various music recitals and festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival, Pop Montreal International Music Festival, and the Cluster New Music + Integrated Arts Festival. She has directed and produced several solo percussion shows and has been involved with full-scale productions as a performer, organiser, and director with various organisations, including the Canadian Opera Company's Youth Program, BIS Phuket, and our own school, where she directed Fame! and A Musical Safari.

Khun Yog Nitimonthol has performed with numerous orchestras in Chiang Mai and is a string specialist. She is an active member of the production and works with the pit band and orchestra, creates parts, helps develop scores and arrangements, and assists in rehearsals.

Ajarn Christopher Hall has worked with professional, amateur and school theatre groups in the USA, England, Wales, Thailand and Australia.  He has directed over thirty major productions including Amadeus, A Streetcar Named Desire, Sweet Bird of Youth and Noises Off, and has designed sets and lights for over fifty other productions including Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar, And Then There Were None, A Midsummer Night's Dream and On Golden Pond.

Ajarn Agnes trained as a dance choreographer in Poland where she also both performed and choreographed. Working with school productions, youth drama clubs and dance groups in Poland, England and Thailand has introduced her to many different people, styles and movement concepts. She enjoys experimenting with lights, colours, materials and a mix of dance styles to create a new art form. She has proudly been a part of the Junior and Senior School productions at Prem for the past five years.

Ajarn Madeline has assisted backstage with many school productions in New Zealand, Indonesia and Thailand; mainly working with props, costumes and the logistics of getting the right people to the right places at the right times!

Ajarn Beth worked tirelessly on last year’s production Arabian Nights behind the scenes, in backstage, make-up and wardrobe. She was quickly snapped up to collaborate on this year’s production, and has committed 100% of her energy and enthusiasm to the project: purchasing props, motivating students and working extensively backstage again.

Ajarn Alli is a passionate seamstress who loves to design her own clothes, bags and other accessories. You may have seen some of her products at the Prem Community Market! We are very grateful for her knowledge of textiles and colours that lend real flair to the show.

Ajarn Mel has directed and co-directed productions in Kenya, Argentina and at Prem! For those who have been here a long time, she was involved in the productions of Grease and Odyssey of Love. She is now returning to Prem productions in a new role, working on media, marketing and Front of House.

…and that’s to say nothing of the wealth of experience and commitment the students are bringing to the production!
