Cooking Heroes
What does it mean to be part of a community? For many of the Traidhos staff, coming to work is […]
Firstly to the parents who trust us to take care of their children; a huge responsibility and privilege. Our constant communication has helped establish good guidelines for the growth of the children and understanding of the parents’ expectations.
Secondly, to the staff who work so hard during very unsociable hours to ensure that the students are safe, healthy and happy. Their constant attention to finding excellent, unusual activities for the students to take part in at the weekends, their ability to teach the students how to cook their favourite meals, the hours they spend watching the children’s favourite films time and time again, and their time spent supervising their homework in Prep. Probably the most important part of their time with the children is to just sit with them, listen to them and provide them with the confidence and self-esteem they need to believe they can achieve whatever they want to achieve – and more!
Thirdly, but probably the most important group, are our students. Where would we be without them? We welcomed twenty-seven new students at the beginning of the term, and during the term, we welcomed four more. We are very pleased to have two of our day students return to boarding, and we are looking forward to an increase in numbers in Term 2.
A week away for all of us to recharge our batteries and enjoy some downtime with family and friends will enable us to come back for more exciting times in boarding.
