The Premathlon involves Grade 1-5 students completing a Triathlon, which includes a Swim, Bike, and Run. In the Senior School, Grade 6-12 compete in a duathlon, which involves a swim, followed by a run.
Five years ago, the Junior council created this event to get people to take action to exercise more. Then 3 years ago we met an organization called the Baan Dek Foundation who raise money to support migrant families with education, health and safety in our local area. Quickly we realised the Premathlon could be used to take action to support this organisation.
In the last few months, we have been made more aware of the challenges people face with Cancer. So, we will also be donating some money to cancer research and patient care through the Northern Cancer Foundation based in Chiang Mai.
So, this is what we hope Grade 1-12 students will do. For a small entry fee of 150 baht and putting your body through a small amount of huff and puff, we want all of you to give this event a go. The money and your effort will go towards these two local organisations. Everyone who finishes will also get a gold medal!
Junior School students should get your paper entries and 150 baht entry fee by Tuesday next week; see Khun Aey if you need another copy. Senior School Students can enter here or sign up through one of their Senior School Council members for 150 baht.
Also, leading up to this event, the PSC will be selling raffle tickets at 20 baht each. Each of your tickets goes into a hat with your name on it and if your name is pulled out, you can win some big prizes. All of these ticket sales help raise more money for Baan Dek.

For the safety of competitors, no cars can be brought onto the school campus between 3.15 and 5.15 pm on the day of Triathlon, 10 November.  In addition, no cars will be able to be driven on campus during this time.
