Boarding Student Committee revamped!
After a somewhat long hiatus, the Boarding Student Committee has restarted. This is student-led, with a boarding staff member acting […]
There are always weekend activity options for our boarding students. On Friday, the boarding students got the chance to sit by a warm fire here on campus and take part in singing, dancing and roasting marshmallows with friends!
On Saturday and Sunday, some of our boarders chose an exciting, yet relaxing, weekend trip to the Sticky Waterfalls Bua-Tong National Park and Sri Lanna National Park to spend the night on a houseboat! At our first stop, the students hiked up the unique waterfalls made of limestone at Bua-Tong National Park. In the afternoon, we were off to the stunning Sri Lanna National Park where the whole group hopped on long-tailed boats that drove through the lush mountainous jungle of the park. After a short ride, we arrived at our beautiful houseboats to stay the night. The kids had many options of enjoyable activities, such as swimming, kayaking, painting, playing board games by the water and playing guitar. The next morning, students woke up to the sun coming over the peaks of the mountains and the water gently rocking their beds. The students had a laid back morning with breakfast by the lake before we made our way back home!
Here are a few quotes from our happy campers from this weekend:
“The good thing about this trip is that we got to spend some time off campus to enjoy time in nature. Me and my friends would love to go on this trip again.”
“I liked how I could just relax … Everyone was socialising with each other and playing games.”
Meanwhile, the boarders who stayed on campus had the amazing opportunity to make Japanese gyoza with Ajarn Yuki and Ajarn Krisha. After all the hard work that the students and Aj. Yuki and Aj. Krisha put in, everyone got the chance to try these culinary masterpieces at dinner on Sunday. We appreciate all involved in making over 100 Gyoza’s for everyone to enjoy. They were a huge hit!
