Ancient Greek Tale in Ancient Greek Space

In the last week, Grade 6 English A Language and Literature students have been enjoying studying their drama unit out-of-doors. We have used the traditional Greek space, the amphitheater, to re-enact a modern play based on Homer’s “The Iliad”, an epic poem written in ancient Greece. “Troy 24” puts a 21st Century spin on the tale of Achilles, Hector, Helen and Paris, and the 10-year war. Students have been keen to take on an acting role and to test the amazing ‘sweet’ speaking spot of the amphitheater.
