We would like to introduce you to the Advocates for Global Welfare (AGW), a collected group of motivated multi-national students from Prem Tinsulanonda International School. As students of the International Baccalaureate programme, they are global citizens who are determined to take on challenges, work for the benefit of their community and address the issues that the world is facing today.
The group was formed by Koh, Norito, Ploy, and Rasnam in September 2016 when the development of their first project, Music for Elephants, began. The objective of this project was to raise awareness on the diminishing population of Asian Elephants in Thailand and to raise money for Naka Elephant Foundation to support projects and specific NGOs. At the end of the project, the AGW, student-led organization, successfully donated THB 53,150 to the Naka Elephant Foundation. (http://www.nakaelephantfoundation.org/)
In 2017, Rasnam, one of the co-founders, received $500 (USD) from EARCOS Global Citizen Community Service Grant, which she accepted on behalf of her and AGW’s contribution to the Prem Community.
This academic year, AGW is collaborating with The Freedom Story, an organization aimed towards preventing the exploitation of children in Northern Thailand by providing them with safe educational centres. Please stay tuned for AGW’s project of 2017-18.
