An Inquiry into Number

This week, the children had many opportunities to explore and inquire into number.  There were many areas in the classroom set up for exploration, including materials such as Numicons, dice, wooden numbers, Unifix cubes, and Dominos.  Having hands-on materials allows the children to better understand the concept of number.  We will continue to work on one-to-one correspondence, number order, and number formation in the coming weeks.

What can you do at home to help develop the concept of number?
