A Magical Loy Krathong Festival in Boarding

Last Saturday our Boarding Staff and students took part in the Thai Festival of Loy Krathong.  The afternoon was spent creating the beautiful krathongs, using only sustainable and biodegradable materials such as banana leaves and bamboo. Students and staff were shown how to fold leaves like origami, creating petals and lotus shapes.  Securing flowers and additional decorations with wooden toothpicks.
After supper, the boarding community went back to the late to release their krathongs as the light faded. Creating a truly memorable moment for all.
Thank you to everyone who joined in this event!
