6th ISTA Festival at Prem

This year’s ongoing partnership with ISTA (International Schools Theatre Association), now in its sixth year, was our largest to date. With around one hundred and fifty young people, teachers, directors and artists spending three days together, devising brand new theatre on the Prem Campus.

All participants were exposed to a range of different professional approaches to theatre making and along with eight other schools, Prem students created a memorable piece of performance that was entirely based around the thoughtful, creative responses of the participants.

Prem’s Creative Director commented “ISTA’s approach of engaging young people on their own terms rather than that of the adult practitioners, always results in spectacular and authentic youth-centred theatre. Being guided by professional, theatre makers and having the chance to work in international ensembles is a brilliant opportunity to nurture their abundant craetivity”

Plans for the 2021 festival collaboration are already underway and we are looking forward to growing and evolving this important partnership.
