Ajarn Elena shared this fabulous example of effective and joyful learning:
“Grade 10 Chemistry class: The students were spectacular! They were given a hypothesis, and had to design an experiment to test the hypothesis. With a little twist, each group designed an experiment but gave the method to a different group to follow. The group that received the method had to follow it, acknowledge strengths and limitations and put into action alterations for improvement. This task pushed the students to work in close collaboration. Students had to communicate very clearly with each other, using positive feedback and critical thinking skills. We tried to simulate the collaboration that is required when scientists from different countries come together sharing approaches and skills to answer common questions.”
